Times When The Only Answer Is: Schedule A Checkup!

Updated: Apr 8, 2020

There are times when our Columbia, TN team will advise you to stay home and keep an eye on your smile. There are moments during which we will tell you that you’re experiencing something that you can treat on your own. Then, there are those instances in which we will advise you to come in for a dental checkup no matter what! Curious about whether you’re facing one of those moments? Allow us to provide you with some insightful examples that will quickly help you understand that seeing us is always to your advantage when you may benefit from care.

When It’s Been Six Months

Yep, you probably thought you could get away with skipping a dental checkup with us if you’ve been taking excellent care of your smile at home. However, we remind you that every single time six months pass, even if you call us to ask if it’s okay, we will tell you the same thing: It’s time for a dental checkup (and cleaning, too). This is the easiest way to consistently care for your smile in conjunction with home dental care, so your oral health remains in wonderful condition. Don’t skip it! Instead, remember that it’s preventive, which is why you want to keep up with it!

When Something Hurts Or Feels Different

Maybe you have a toothache. Perhaps you feel some sort of aching or pressure within your teeth. You may have a sore jaw. Whatever the case, when you notice something has changed and this transformation, no matter how small, is not for the better, it’s time for you to visit our team for a dental checkup. We cannot diagnose you over the phone. Instead, we must see you, fully examine your smile, ask questions, and determine the cause of your sensations during a visit. While it is possible that your oral health is fine but that you are dealing with something non-threatening to your smile, the opposite is also possible. It is always better to err on the side of protection, so if you require a dental treatment to repair a problem, you receive it early rather than late in the game.

When You Have Questions About Your Smile

Remember, if you have questions about your smile, you cannot find answers online. Unless it’s knowledge you already carry around that you’ve received from our team, then you should bring those inquiries in to our team during a dental checkup! It will grant you peace of mind and an easier time with keeping your smile safe.

Protect Your Smile With Dental Checkups

Remember to come in every six months for your preventive dental checkups! In addition, keep in mind that you should always call us to schedule an additional checkup, as well, if you are dealing with changes!
