FULL AND PARTIAL DENTURES

Patients who have lost some or all their teeth may also lose confidence in their smiles. Or they may experience issues biting and chewing properly, as well as facial changes. When situations like these arise, we can help with a dental restoration option and fit you with a full or partial denture.

Which Kind Does One Need?

The two main types of dentures are full and partial. How many teeth are missing, and a patient’s jawbone structure, determine which kind is needed. If you have lost all your teeth on the upper or lower dental ridges, then a full denture will be created for you. However, there are healthy teeth remaining, then a partial denture will be selected. Both kinds have gum-colored bases and natural looking teeth, and they rest comfortably on the ridges in the mouth.

A third option is implant-retained dentures. These are like full and partial dentures, but they use implants to help keep them stable. This kind is often more effective compared to traditional dentures. Your jawbone’s structure will help us determine if this is the type we can offer you.

Do They Really Offer Any Benefits?

In short, the answer is yes, dentures offer several benefits. The main one is that a patient can have a full smile again. They also help prevent your remaining teeth from moving, can help maintain your natural facial appearance and give you clearer speech.
